Ayelet Zohar is a visual culture researcher, specialising in Japanese photography and video art. Zohar teaches courses on Modern and Contemporary visual culture in Japan and the expanded field of Asia, and teaches the course "The Photographic Gaze" at the Asian Sphere Programme. Zohar has a multifaceted experience as an independent curator, which is a territory well suited for her visual and intellectual skills. Here recent project "Beyond Hiroshima: The Return of the Repressed" was exhibited at the genia Schreiber Art Gallery at Tel Aviv University, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of the Asia-Pacific War., accompanied by an extensive catalogue:
