Guy Almog is an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Asian Studies at the University of Haifa. His research focuses on the multidisciplinary examination of various contemporary issues in East Asia as well as on the discourses that surround them, mainly by way of theoretical frameworks drawn from the fields of history, moral philosophy, linguistics and cultural studies. Currently, his main research and teaching interests include pacifism in Japan, the Constitution of Japan, Chinese characters, the “Chinese character cultural sphere”, “character amnesia”, cultural appropriation and tattoos.
